Language Classes for Kids
Carousel of Languages enriches the minds of infants, toddlers and school age kids through early exposure and immersion in a foreign language. The unique Carousel Teaching System® is a multi-sensory approach that incorporates verbal, visual and tactile experiences into every foreign language lesson. Our global team of educators and linguists observe and interact with children daily to design classes tailored to how children learn best at each stage of development. Our exclusive methodology has been proven over 14 years of classroom success.
At Carousel of Languages, Mandarin classes for kids are taught by native speakers with extensive training in the Carousel Teaching System®. Our unique methodology is based on a multi-sensory approach to foreign language classes for children. Our curriculum applies verbal, visual and tactile associations to early childhood themes and skills. Themes and skills grow more complex as children learn and progress.
Infants and Toddlers
Infants and Toddlers think and learn through their senses and the manipulation of objects in the world around them. At this stage, Carousel of Languages Mandarin teachers encourage children to manipulate physical props while listening and absorbing new vocabulary. Infant and toddler Mandarin class components include traditional Chinese songs with customized visual aids and props, movement & finger plays. Children are actively engaged in a beautiful, nurturing environment.
Pre-school age children develop memory and use symbols while learning. At this age, children are introduced to new vocabulary, based on early childhood themes, in a full immersion setting. Pre-school Mandarin class components include basic conversation, music & movement, interactive storytelling, dramatic play, and games for grasping and retaining new vocabulary. Our beautiful and customized teaching materials provide a stimulating, multi-sensory experience.
Elementary School Age
Children in this stage organize information in more logical and systematic ways. Our school age students take theme-based learning further by classifying objects on more complex levels and testing out new ideas. Mandarin class components for school age children include conversation, dramatic play, logical thinking activities, as well as basic reading, writing & grammar.
Mandarin classes for our older children focus on broader concepts about China as a country and Chinese culture. Stronger emphasis is placed on reading, writing, grammar, and fluent conversational skills.
